I need to get an idea of what my 911 is worth for insurance (agreed value).
Details are:
3.2 targa celebration model .
1987 (88 model year,so it is a G50 model)
Diamond blue with blue leather signature seats.
140,000 miles with fsh.
Paintwork is a bit dull, but i am getting it painted!
I know a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it,but i just need a figure to give to my insurance company.
Any help would be appreciated!
Andrew.

Hi Andy

I had a recent offer accepted on an 88 celebration 130k with a £9k full engine re-build @ £14,250.

Unfortunately the car had B post corrosion and a welded crank case which put me off the deal, but it gives you an idea.

Best way to get a insurance valuation from the club is to phone Cornbury House and they'll tell you who to speak to. They then send you a form to fill in etc. Remember the club are not car traders and can only give you a general indication of value as they are not close to the market, especially for anything specialised.

I have found phoning some of the specialist dealers and keeping an eye on the classifieds is a good way to get to a reasonable idea on insurance value.

Also in general the value you agree with the insurance company only determines the premium you will pay. It does not reflect what the company will value the car at at time of a payout (other than setting an upper limit to the claim). The value will be determined an adjuster who is supposed to know the market but usually doesn't so you have to help them out with examples.
