What's my '78 SC worth?

As things arent exactly rosy at the moment my newly collected SC may need to go on the market. Not exactly sure and some of that depends on what she's worth. Any advice would be gladly received.

In brief; Silver 3.0 SC 1978. She's done 100k miles with full history. Pretty much original apart from the gearbox replaced about 2k miles ago with the introduction of a km clock (oops). The bad bits, well, front seats and stearing wheel need recovering and a front carpet set woulndt go amiss. Solid and rust free apart from some bubbles below the headlamps. B the time she goes on the market she'll have a new MOT and be idling right once again.

This pic is pre rusty bits but you get the idea.

The SC is indeed lots of fun. But the ditch the Landy! Never in a month of Sundays. The SC is easier to replace. Wise words though. I will sleep on it.

Yes SC's do seem to be increasing in value, particularly nice ones-maybe it's all these retro conversions??? .If you have a nice car,you can feel rather smug.Dealers seem to be advertising several for over £15,000 recently and Paragon had a very nice 3.2 Carrera for £24,995 and it seems to have found a buyer.Basically they aren't making them like they used to and there are loads of 996's and Boxsters on the market resulting in depreciation of the newer cars.

That was after a particularly tough day out. You can see what was left of the ns wing after my novice friend saw too much red mist and took a tree out []. All pretty again now.

I've had her since Mar 2002. Since then parts availability for SI has dropped around 95% and prices have gone up to match, which is crippling. So my advice is to buy as late as you can afford. There are still bundles of SII & III parts, mods and spares at bargain prices. £2k buys you a good one too.

The best resource I have found for leafers is the OLLR forum.

Best of luck.

Tim
