Whats the best transmission oil?

I'd avoid Royal Purple as I have heard of it leaving the metal exposed if the car is left standing for a period...this may be hear say but such things tend to start some where.
I've always been very impressed with Red Line lubricants when used in engines and have no reason to consider they would be any less effective in the transmission.
A word of caution. A 944 owner (known to many here) once used the wrong transmission oil and wrecked a previously excellent box in 250 miles. []
I went with Silkolene Syn 5 75w-90 GL4/GL5 as recommended here:

I fitted Hotblacks oil he mentions, and it seemed like good oil, but he didnt have any issues before we changed the oil and he does not clock up a million miles per year... So its hard to know how good it is, I am sure its good though!
Only problem with Swepco.. it can tend to bulk a bit when changing into second when its blooming freezing weather until the oil gets a bit warmer.
Apart from that, I have been using it for years... it never seems to break down, it freeze frames the box (it never seems to get worse after its used) and I have never had a complaint from it (apart from in the cold).
