hello everyone, Im 23 and wanting to get my first Boxter...... I really want a 2003 Boxter S...... I have read that the boxter's suffer from the splitting/cracked rear window...... so would having a hard top eradicate this problem??? oh and what doe's a hard top/hard back come under?? Roadster, convertible or Cabriolet

Many thanks and I'l look forward to hearing from you,

Patrick

p.s sorry about the newbie questions

A Boxster is a Boxster! Never heard of the other models you mention. ie Cab and Roadster.
All models upto 2002 had soft back windows. 2003 on had the Glass back window.
The hard top was a Porsche optional extra (good for winter saves the soft top from winter ravages) and cost approx £2K
new from the PC - available 2nd hand today at around £700,

Hope you'll be sitting down when you ask for an insurance quote.

The Boxster is a roadster, a convertable and a cabriolet. So it's worth three times as much.

I think the 356 had the options of Coupe, Hardtop, Cabriolet, Convertible, Roadster and Speedster.

Boxster is, IMO, a Roadster or Syder - or a Coupe (Cayman)

Theres the start of a debate then. Is a Cayman a Boxster coupe? IMO it not having had both. Cayman is a very different drive to a Boxster!

Robin,

Various internal Porsche literature describes the Cayman as a "987C"

Patrick,

I don't know what a Boxter is, but Porsche have made BoxSters since 1997! [;)]
