WHATS THE DIFFERENCE

I stripping my head light mechanism. I have sourced another set but the Porsche catalogue states that two of the brackets are different from the 944 and the 944s2

944......... 914 750 271 10
944s2 .....951 750 271 00

My question is are they the same because they look the same

I don't know off hand but my guess is the later one includes level adjustment. Certainly the 944 takes two different headlamp units subject to year and origin (US headlamps don't fit UK Turbo/S2's as an example).

Your guess may be correct, but I am not 100% convinced. Both part numbers are listed in the "up to MY91" PET catalogue. That covers the 944 2.7, the S2 and the later Turbos; so the "944" referenced is the 2.7. Both my 2.7 and my S2 have headlight level adjustment.

Of course, it is always possible that someone has retrofitted level adjustment to my 2.7 at some point in the last 20-odd years!
