What's the relay that switches when you open the door?

Does anyone know which relay can be heard switching when you open the door?

I remember my 924S used to do this, but the turbo seems to have a crazy relay, it can be heard opening and closing rapidily whenever the door is opened and can do this for up to five seconds, I'm sure the 924S used to click once when the door was opened and that was it.

I thought it might be a sticky courtesy light switch, but it does the same from both doors and wiggling the door switch doesn't make it stop any sooner.

Any ideas?

Rob

Both mine do this, and I've always put it down to the motion detectors for the alarm sensing the movement. Could be wrong though. It does go clickety crazy doesn't it [8|]

Nope, it's not the alarm motion sensors, it's a switch I think. From memory my cab has 2 and I think it's one of them. The guy who maintains it cleaned them once and it stopped but it started again last week.

Try actually unscrewing the door switches and cleaning up the back of them so you get a good electrical connection when you put them back.

Cheers Jim (and Fen), I'll give that a try

The courtesy light inside my cab just stays on with/without closing the door all the time and won't switch them off. I have taken out the door switches and gave them a good clean but the problem still persists. I now have to switch the light off (in the middle position) permanantly. Are there any other places (relays etc) that I can try.

Sounds like it could be either the switch on the r/h tailgate strut or a short circuit.

John,
There is no switch on the boot struts in the cab, the boot light is a simple push switch by the single center catch.
