Whats this drain in rear arch for?

Guys, can you help me here. Finally decided to rip out the old BT massive mobile phone cables over the weekend, but when removing the carperts over the rear wheel arches, i seem to have dislodged a drain. This one is about 4-5 inches long with a black connector on one end, the other end goes though through the bodywork and out. It' s not the drain from the sunroof. I am stumped as there' s not one on the right rear, and it' s not the rear left hatch drain either. It' s down near the battery, but i can' t seem to find out what or why it' s there. Sean or Diver, can you help me out here?

Cheers in advance
Gareth

Have you checked it is not the Battery Vent?
The 944 battery has a vent tube - the connector you mention might be the one that clips on the battery - look at one end for a mating tube.

Are you sure it' s not the sunroof drain? [&:] Mine has three pipes on the left. One from the sunroof which goes over the arch, one from the battery which goes down into the spare wheel well, and one from the left tailgate latch which goes down through the rear boot floor.

It does sound like the sunroof one to me, pour some water down the rear sunroof drain hole

Mark you' re spot on here. I' m just replying here for completeness. I bought a new battery a couple of months ago and the OPC fitted it. The vent is under the carpet, so you cannot see it without lifting it; hence i didn' t notice it. It was only when installing the new nokia car kit, that i came upon this and it was disconnected. Thanks for your help here

Cheers
