What's this worth?

Any ideas what this car is worth please?
I have seen it and it has had a thorough strip down and high quality respray, waxoiled etc, so the bodywork really is as new as the ad says.
It will need new belts this year, the boot roller blind is missing, electric mirrors need a new switch (£47), but otherwise seems spot on.
Full leather interior and premium sound system.
It has 161k miles but with a pretty comprehensive history and a folder full of receipts etc.
Seller wants £6800 cash deal but I think it's a bit high even allowing for the £2k spent on bodywork. Very tempted though.
Am I right?
Give the the benefit of your wisdom guys!
Thanks.

Or anyone have a good S2 for sale?
Prefer leather inside but absolutely essential the bodywork is excellent.
And good history etc, the usual things.

If everything checks out as you say then I think that is right on the money for a very good S2 with leather.

If there was proof of recent camCHAIN and maybe a clutch as well then the advertsied price would have been a bargain IMHO. The boot roller is easily replaced from a breakers, but the window 'could' be the motor or gears rather than just a switch. You won't know until you try, but both of the last items are pretty minor

Thanks for that Paul
Cambelts & balance belts have been done on schedule, no mention of the cam chain though.
Clutch was replaced at 134k along with the diff support bearings.
Sorry, it wasn't a window switch, but electric mirror switch.
Looks like I might have to persuade Mrs P that it would be a good investment then [:D]

had a look at the advert and it rang a bell. There was cobalt blue S2 advertised in the January '06 Porsche Post which fits this description and the telephone no is the same - except the mileage was noted as just over 164K and the car was described as SE spec. Also the advert is not marked as trade although the seller does have other cars on the pistonheads web site. The interior looks pretty similar to mine (except for sports seats) in which case you're only getting leather on the front seat facings, the rest is (more practical) leatherette. On a positive note the price has come down a fair chunk.

Hope this is a genuine car.

regards

Iain

Iain,
Yes it is the car that was advertised in PP. I think at the time he placed the ad it was still in the paintshop so he guessed approximate mileage. He has reduced the price now as nobody from England seems to want to risk coming over here to view!!!
He is a private collector/trader who seems genuine and is a PCGB member.
I have the option codes for the car and it is listed as 'leather/leatherette seats'.
It does seem a genuine car and there is a huge pile of service history, receipts for work done etc.
I am tempted!

Can't blame you - I was looking for cobalt blue when I bought mine but there was nothing available.

Good Luck!
