Check the ejector seat fuse, mine went last week and I had to listen to the Mrs talking all the way up the M40 [;)]

Don'y know I have one as well so will be good to find out. How do you reset the tripometer ? New car,new to 944, no owmers manual ,hence the questions. Nick[:D]

The tripometer has a secret 'Do Not Press' Button (apologies to Douglas Adams) located in the centre of the right hand centre air vent, only press it whilst stationary otherwise you wreck the fold-down moving map display

Thanks Jeremy,.the flashing switch on my S2 I think is linked to a Thatcham alarm system possibly. Nick [:D]

I believe it is the switch to disable the ultrasonics on the original alarm. So you can leave the windows open or a dog or person inside with the alarm otherwise on. I think it was an option usually fitted to cabs but not always. Tony

Nope its not an additional alarm I only have the facory original imoboliser key fob thing.

When you look in the surround of the rear side windows are there not ultrasonic sensors? - the original immoboliser system had an alarm which activates/deactivates with the key in the door - flashing door pins also indicate its armed. Tony

ORIGINAL: homesea Mine has one as well it's part of the Porsche alarm system, but I've no idea what it's for!
Its to disable the interior sensors on the optional alarm system, not many cars have that switch at all.

ORIGINAL: bumperblue Yes I have flashing door pins and those ultrasonic emitters at the rear. So this switch turns them off?
I believe so, and Andy should know! try locking doors with windows open with switch in either position, in one the alarm should trigger (probably about 30 secs after locking the doors in the other it shouldn't. There is a black box usually by the battery that has a potentiometer to adjust the sensitivity of the sensors. Tony

I have those, but not the switch and light that you have
