Wheel Alignment Aids (997S)

Had the front wheels off today and couldn't for the life of me find the wheel alignment aids (threaded plastic pins?) that are listed in the instruction manual (page 184 I think?).

The manual says they are in the toolkit (2 for PCCB and 1 for steel brakes) which I take to be the black plastic box containing the spanner, twin headed screwdriver and a small lever "thingy"?

Anyone got any idea where I might locate these items as without them there is much banging of wheel inner against nice shiny red caliper until you can get the wheel located?

On top of that I managed to drop one of the wheels onto it's face whilst cleaning it - DOH!

Threaded aluminium rod is what it is in my toolkit.
I see in the USA version of the handbook that the Jack, Assembly aids, and wheel bolt wrench are not supplied witht he car(!)
Are they supplied for UK spec ones?

Hmm - definately not in my kit, aluminium or otherwise.

The manual does confirm though that the jack and wheel brace are not included - which is correct, they aren't.

Think an e-mail to the OPC is in order.

Sorry guys. Have I got this right?
Do you mean that the 997 is not supplied with wheelchanging gear (looks aghast)?

The wheel changing aid is available as an aftermarket accessory from your freindly OPC. For the information of others, 997's, 987's and Cayman come devoid of jack and wheel brace. I have purchased these items from a written off 996 4S along with a space saver wheel. I simply cannot trust that foam seal in a can stuff to be 100% reliable.

I eventually sourced the aluminium threaded "wheel assembly aid" from the Porscheshop for £4.99 as the OPC lost interest in talking to me about it after informing me that it was in the "tool roll" (997 doesn't have a tool roll - or at least mine doesn't).

Bit of a minor item I know, but I do periodically remove wheels and have a proper clean around the calipers etc - very satisfying:rolleyes:
