Wheel alignment

I've just been in to town and I thought I'd get the wheel alignment checked, but National Tyre tell me its a dealer only job.

Has anyone else found this to be a problem or is it just the yocals in Shrewsbury are frightened of a 968.

Mike

For a full alignment a specialist is your best bet (full marks to National Tyres for NOT doing it!)

Either your dealer, or a good independant will be able to do it. But as you can imagine, it is a little more advanced than the local tyre fitters normally do. Expect to pay between £100 and £150...

Well, your right Marky boy I've just been ringing around and I've just booked it in a 9mRacing in Warrington on Thursday, they reckon it'll be between 2 & 3hrs at £50/hr depends how far out it is and what needs doing.

So first big maintenance bill on the 968 [:(], I guess the braided hoses will have to wait till next month , welcome to the world of Porsche ownership [:D][;)]

I bet you will find it makes the car feel even better though!

Now you have to decide how you want the car set up...

It is a CS so you have a lot of adjustment parameters to play with [8D]

Unless they find that the front shockers are blown/ need replacing. If so you can double that estimate. []

And its pointless to have the alignment done if the front dampers are shot.

I've been there and done that.

Also will they be checking the corner weights in this 3 hours of labour? I did read this was important if you wanted a car with a well balanced feel.

Oh yes, whilst your are at 9m can you give us all a development report on their tuning project for normally aspirated 968 engines -- would be good to hear the latest.
