Wheel alignment

nervy

PCGB Member
Hi
Could somebody tell me what the tow-in values are for 16" front wheels on a '78 SC.

I have just installed some new turbo tie-rods, and tried to get the lengths as near to the old ones as possible. I will be taking the car to our local MOT station for them to do the alignment, but would like to know the "Porsche" figures.

Cheers, Alan

Hello,
I have listed figures from the Bentley Manual
Front
Toe angle (total) +15' +/- 5'
Toe difference angle
(inside wheel@20deg lock) 0deg to + 30"
Camber 0deg +/- 10'

For interest
Rear
Toe per wheel +10' +/- 10' max deviation 20'
Camber -1deg +/- 10' max deviation 20'

Cheers
John

Set front and rear either dead straight or toeing in slightly Nervy. The cars are led by the back end (so to speak) so track the back also. I have always used Dunlop gauges; if your garage has them then I would say go for that, I wouldn't worry too much about needing to use laser setups.
