Wheel Balancing - who can you recommend?

Now that I no longer use the tyre company based at the two depots in Preston [Fylde Road and Marsh Lane - see my previous post re damaged wheels] I need to find a local tyre depot who can balance my wheels with out damaging them.

I live in the Fylde area, so a recommendation for a company in the Preston - Blackpool area would be great if anyone can help out. I would rather pay more for good service.

I have yet to find any tyre depot anywhere with fitters who really do care about the cars they deal with and I always dread getting the car home and finding damage.

Thanks in advance.

May be obvious but why not Bolton OPC? Am sure they would look after your wheels and how much can balancing cost? My 996 needed a tyre when it was last serviced and they were competitive on price and didn't damage the wheel. If they had done, I am quite sure it would have been suitably rectified too.

Hi Rob - I didn't really want to go all the way to Bolton - but looks like I will have to before my trip to Skye next week.

Am surprised that no one else has come forward with any other recomendations though.

I have the answer! They do a fantastic balancing job - not to far down the road from you in Blackpool - they come highly recommended see:-

Didn't you just know I would come to the rescue[;)]

The chaps who just changed the tyres on my BMW are closer - (a mile up the road from Dean on Liverpool Road if you've been there)- Junction Garage at Walmer Bridge. I used to live 50 yards away from them and they have been great over the years.

Eric or Alan Suthers run it, both know me well. 01772 616152.

Can only be 20 mins from your work place if you time it right avoiding rush hour. They would balance wheels while you wait.

Thanks fellas - will give them a call and see if they can fit me in on Monday.

Colin - you are rotten to Rob!! One day you may need him to represent you in court! Heaven forbid.

you beat me too it col...[:D][:D][:D][;)]

I hasten to say that they don't know me professionally! I've been going there for nearly 5 years as I used to live within walking distance!

Sorry Rob - I seem to have started some 'Rob bashing' here!!

Haven't really got tim to get to the garage this week prior to our trip to Skye at the weekend. Hopefully with a full tank and fully laden the slight wobble will not be felt so much.
To be honest it only starts about ..... cough ....cough .......80mph

[:D] Not really - when it's Colin and Jeremy it's all in the best possible taste! Those aircooled fixed roof fanboys eh?

Watch out on the A74(M) near Lockerbie. My first ever points were acquired just less than 2 years ago for attaining the dizzy heights of 84mph with empty lanes around me. Keep you eye out for mobile cameras on bridges...

Also on a bridge over a sweeping right uphill section before the long straight grassy service area before Glasgow-can be an old red battered Citroen "crinkly " van with cameras on tripods jammed between it & the parapet.

Rob ,
Many thanks for those sensitive few words-I'm sure Jeremy also appreciated them as well-however I'm glad to see they don't know you intimately-presumably you used to get your footwear balanced.[:D]

Colin...we ought to print this off for prosperity...weve been called tasteful !!! [:D][:D]

Tasteful? Nah, I was thinking more like...

Well I know both words start with a "T" but what inference are you suggesting, Rob ( if you don't mind me using two words having similar meaning in the one sentence)?
