Wheel colour change??

cococola

I saw in a Porsche mag in Wh Smiths(tight I know!)that showed a 944 with my grey metalic body colour having cup alloys on it.The wheel spokes were the same as the body colour and the outer rims were the standard silver.
My question is1.Are there any clever guys out there who can paste a picture up with computer art showing this and 2.Do I paint mine or stick to standard silver?
Thanks in advance[;)]

I can give it a go if you give me some decent photos to work from...

did one with my car and wheels, but obviously not the same colour or wheels as you mentioned:

yes, I tend to agree, but then I did have 16" wheels (standard 15") on my Saab 900 turbo with dark grey centres and polished rims.

not the best pic but you get the gist:

anyway, offers still stands, if you want me to do a mockup for you just send some pics my way...

I think your Saab ones are even better[8|],its amazing what a improvement a set of wheels can do to a car.

yes, there does seem to be some kind of optical illusion going on that makes the wheels look smaller, but it equally looks better too, maybe even more equally better than smaller [;)]

The Saab wheels looked even better once I got them on the car (no pics now but I'll see if I can dig some out).

My 18" Simmons while not the same colour look great to me. I just saw them on film in a hillclimb and they look even better. I can't get it to upload to YouTube though. I'll keep working on it.

I think it can depend on the design of the wheel itself. I think I'm on my own in as much as I have never really liked many of the standard or even aftermarket official Porsche wheels. To me the Phonedials are just another Cookie cutter, but that's all subjective of course. I prefer something that is flat or concave rather than convex like so many P wheels. Sometimes when you see the wheels in the exact colour of the car it looks a bit naff in my eyes, so keeping it within the same colour group is fine.

No question in my mind, when I find a set of cup 1's my S2 will have colour coded centres with silver/polished
rims. I ran my 968 cup 2's colour coded on one side and silver on the other for a while because I could not make
my mind up[8|][8|][;)][;)]

I think the end result depends on what sort of wheels are used, I don't think cup 2's suit the 44 as much as the 68,
the deep dish tele dials on the 44 turbo look fantastic, but it is all subjective.
