Wheel fit? Quick answer needed...

I have come across a set of wheels. I was wondering if anyone could please advise whether they will fit the car okay (wheel and tyre sizes below). FYI I'm currently running with the original Mags with 18mm cargraphic spacers on the rears.

New wheel sizes:
Front 9J x 18" ET50 Tyre: 235/40/18
Rear 10J x 18" ET50 Tyre: 265/40/18

Many thanks.

I think that front wheel + tyre combo is going to rub on the inside when you try full lock....will have turning circle of a supertanker but maybe OK on some tracks [:D]

Thanks for the input so far.

So John, is it the front rim, or the tyre that you feel will cause the problem? Obviously it is easy enough to change to a narrower tyre but if it's the 9" rim then that's a little different.

Does anyone else have aftermarket 18" rims and what sizes are they? Ollie, what size/offset/tyre-size are yours?

ORIGINAL: oldtimer

Hi Rich , its the tyre , I dont think you should go beyond 225 .

It won´t be fun to drive it with such a wide front tyre anyway.

For some reason I can't quite remember, I've 235/40x18 on the front but on 8" rims - works well but it is heavy (won't be though when I get the pas fitted).
Rears are 9.4 with 2645's like everybody else.
Don't think any 18" setup is as nice to drive as 17's but there's more grip - horses for courses.

I can definitely confirm that anything bigger than 225s on the front will rub/catch the inner wheel arches on full lock.

Tony is spot on, stick to 17" if you can, the car will drive much better on the road with 17"s than on 18"s.
