another wheel fitment question guys? will a rear of 9x17 with an et of 47 fit my later hub 944?
just wanted to say thanks as well as my DME relay went this morning upon trying to start my car and it was thanks to the advice of guys on here that i carried a spare. plugged it in and started straight away. Is it just the cold or is the old one scrap now?

thanks again

Those 17s will stick out an extra 5mm than the 9 inch 16" D90s, so your arch clearance may be problematical. Have you got more than 5mm clearance now on your existing 9 inch D90s with the car pushed right down at the back (if that's a Turbo in the pic) or more than about 18 mm clearance on your existing 8 inch D90s (if it's an S2)? DME relay: If it's stopped working, throw it away and buy a new spare.

sorry its a lux and they are 16x8's currently running on the rear but with 18mm spacers and they just rub a bit after a big bump. so does that mean ill get away with the new ones?

Im not sure. The existing wheels will have an offset of 65mm in all likelihood, so the new ones will actually stick out by a further 12mm-ish (65mm(old offset 8") - 47mm(new offset 9") = 18mm(nominal difference between the two assuming otherwise similar) + 12.5mm(half of the one inch of extra width) = 30.5mm(running total of difference) -18mm(the spacers that you can remove) = 12.5mm). If theyre 52.3mm, which I doubt, but they may be: then everything'll stay the same. If Im wrong then I expect credit for my working out... [:D]

they are cup 1's might just get them and if they are too close try stretch tyres on them, the fronts are 8's i think

I always thought Cup 1 wheels in 9J x 17" were 55 ET, not 47. I don't have any, though, so it may be that my source is faulty.
