WHEEL NUT TORQUE

Hi - Speedlines going on for road use. Does anyone have the wheelnut torque setting please (steel nuts)?

Also - I seem to have floppy RS wheel centres. Is there a quick fix for this?

I use the STD 120nm which is c95 lbft;seems ok but never seen a Porsche source
always assumed that force related to the weakest component and as steel stronger than alloy
can't be less than that?
 
Agree, alloy should be the weaker link than steel for settings, but always thought factory figure was 130NM.

I always use 130Nm and have had no problems at all, worth re-checking torque during the day when tracking just to be sure.
 
Thanks for the information. I had 130 Nm as a reference, but must admit that it is a higher figure than I have used in the past - hence the intial post.

I tighten up as far as I can by hand with wheel brace supplied....as I've done with every car I've ever owned....never had a wheel fall off yet...but am I missing something? Does 95 thingymajigs = average 48 year old bloke trying pretty hard on wheelbrace? [:D]
 
130nm with steel nuts on ali wheels.
floppy centres is common,a bit of silicone or similar just to firm them up a bit.I think they seem to shrink a little with heat and age.
 
Thanks - wheels on and at correct torque.

I cut a tiny piece (thin strip) of duct tape and 1 layer round the edge of the wheel centres did the trick.

The car looks absolutely stunning - shame it poured with rain all day yesterday at Brands!

The same 130NM, direct from the handbook.

No adjustment for steel nuts as the assumption is the steel nuts would be stronger than the lighter alloy.

but original 130Nm quote was based on using those 'orrible ali nuts fitted as standard.
