Has anyone any experience of having their wheels reconditioned? I have slight signs of a bit of corrosion on the inside of my rear wheel. I don't know if a run of the mill paint shop willl be up to the mark, powder coating or wet paint, any recommendations out there re painting services and prices?

Try these guys, did a first class job on a set of rims for my KN. They do pick ups nationally from various partner locations. Worth getting specialists to do the job as they strip the rims properly, repair any rim scrapes and match the original finish.

Hope that helps

I just had to give my 3 series coupe back to BMW as the lease agreement was up, I had the 4 wheels done at Sytner for £110 all in. I thought it was cheap and the guy did a great job, they looked brand new. This was done with the tyres on the vehicle but I couldn't fault the finish.
Not sure how long they will last though but as the car is back with them that didn;t concern me too much.
I know in Birmingham, LapTab do a great service, bit more pricey but they get the tyres off the rim etc.

I've only heard good things about Lepsons.
I've tried BJV engineering, wasn't impressed.

Chalk & cheese though.
Rodney, I know you keep banging on about how you didn't like the job BJV did, but they've done my GT3 wheels and my LM's (in fact, just had the LM's done again in gunmetal) and they did a great job every time. Given that they're one of (if not the) cheapest wheel refurb companies out there, I'm happy with the work they do for the price they charge. I have 4 friends who've all had their wheels done there now and they're happy too. Maybe you were just unlucky?
Hey Nick Im sure you're right, and it's only right that you should put a balanced view across.
But I do make sure to say I've tried them and wasn't impressed, not 'they're no good'.
I bet they look the dogs in gunmetal!

Off topic slightly guys, but has anyone any recommendations for looking after polished rims???
Had my wheels refurbished a few months ago now, and was really pleased with them, they were the standard colour for the inset and of course the rims were polished. However, with the bad weather recently and an horrendous trip back from Scotland in blizzard like conditions its wrecked the rims and they really need doing again!!!

They do look good. Should save me a lot of cleaning time because I made sure it was the same colour as the brake dust []
On another subject: you up for doing another 'ring trip this year?
haha crafty!
Definately up for that, I've got withdrawl symptoms already! Let me know
