Hi folks,
I would like to get my wheels painted on my 997s. It's artic silver and what I'd like are black wheels with a silver rim.

Has anyone else had their wheels done?? If so, I'd like to see pics of any colour combinations as you know what us women are like, we change our minds every other day!!!!

Any thoughts and is it possible to get them powder coated??
Thanks

I have recently spoken to someone who may well be having a similar thing done..
I hope he'll post some pictures..

A bit older than a 997 but any excuse to post the pic!!!

FWIW the previous owner had the wheels with a red band (on a black car). He got the paint shop to spray the blue bands for me before sending them. The word in Glasgow was that they can powder-coat the whole wheel but not part of it. So you get them powder-coated in black and then have the rim sprayed in the colour of choice.

All being well, the results can be viewed at the Sherbrook tomorrow night!

Ahhhhh Richard, I had forgot about your's!! I play badminton on a Tuesday......only keep fit I ever do so can't make Sherbrooke tomorrow.

If I don't see you before, have a lovely xmas & new year, and thanks for the pic.

I had the wheels of my 944 powdercoated by Hendersons Metal Cleaning Services in Edinburgh who I think may be local for you. It was tyres off and to a good standard.

Clive, thanks for the pics, now you've got my head spinning!!! I only wish I could be as daring to go for the wild wheels!!! The hubby would put a stop to that though!! Please explain the avatar then!!! [:D]

Lawrence, thanks for the contact..............I'm in Livingston. This isn't meant to sound like a date, but if your free, why don't you pop along to Dakota on Thursday night, we'll be there about 7.30 - 8pm for a drink and a blether. And new faces are always made very welcome.

Thanks again fellas.

Family portrait. [8|]
Used to have something a bit more decorative as my avatar but was told it was frightening the horses (all 535 of them![;)]) and I had to remove it or risk excommunication. [&:]

I was doing to have mine done today but changed my mind at last moment as saw an identical black car to mine with black 19 S wheels and put me off.

Chatting to a guy on here who did it a few weeks ago who has got exactly same car as mine and painted his black. He is doing a write up for a future edition of the magazine. His lasted one day on his car before he decided he didnt like em. They are his on ebay at mo with new tyres for £1,200

Going to try a different style of wheel in black and keep em for track days so dont ruin my best road tyres every time.

I am thinking of doing the same on my Red 997. Only trouble is most wheels that come up for sale are the Gen1 Carrera standard wheels which are not available on the Gen 2 so would look "wrong".
Hopefully a set of Carrera Classic or Sport wheels will come up.
If you look around the porsche gb website at used cars of your colour, there is usually one with black or body colour wheels to give you an idea of what it will look like.
