I have heard the one in east Kilbride, kelvin ind estate is good.

Avoid the one in cambuslang...wheel centre Scotland. Had mine done there and very poor quality...even had arguement with the guy about how poor they were done...

I ended up paying half price but to be honest it was not even worth that.

Alan, Alasdair recommends a guy in Glasgow - he just refurb'd those Forged CS wheels for him from the silver rose. I think it was £40 pw.

We have a discount arrangement with the wheel guy in E-K make sure to ask for John Grove 0845 302 1946 and QT PCGB expect to pay around £220 ish
There is also a company in Thornliebank P&J Powder Coating
0141 620 1652 have never used then but dropped in to get a price for PC my replacement fan housing for the speedster was very impressed with his approach and saw some of his work, intimated wheels are about £40 each

I had the Wheel Specialist in East Kilbride apply a powder coat undercoat with painted and laquered finish to two of my wheels. The other two were nearly new and I wanted a match. The colour match was excellent and the finish was reasonably good. My only critism and it's potentially quite a big one, is that were a bit too heavy on the powder coat - the centre cap didn't fit on one wheel without a bit of fettling and the size markings either side of the valve are just about unreadable on the other.

If you want a traditional painted refurb Mitchell Inglis are very good. They do all PC Glasgow wheel refurbs. I have to say that this is not a testomony to their body repair skills, only their ability to prepare and paint a wheel. [8|]

Thanks for the replys everyone, I went over to Powdertec this afternoon, but they were closed, probably at a wedding or something as everyone else I phoned today had the day off for one.
Brian I went to check out PJ a few months ago but their tyre fitting was a problem if I remember.

Alan.

You could be correct as to PJ as I think they just do the wheel that you take in .E-K will leave the car on jacks and remove and refit .I have to say E-K where good but did have a few issues as has been already mentioned to much powder and balancing way to many weights had to be removed and redone .I suggested to the guy that every tyre should be chalk marked at a spot opposite the valve and put back on in the same spot so wheel will be the same as before it was removed.

See you Tuesday meeting

I think I will try Powdertec as that is who done Alasdair's forged wheels and Mike's GT3's.
I will have to wait untill I get my car back from Paintshop, then I'll drop the wheels down in the van.

Thanks Alan.
