Wheel refurbishment required

Have been waiting on the Wicked wheels guy returning my call all week now, with no joy. []

Who else can do Fuch alloys in the Glasgow area?

Not sure if this is the same number of Alan McNeil 07989442345 no longer has the WW franchise .I am not sure they can do this type of wheel as the centres need painted I think it is only the standard alloy wheel ie all silver colour could be wrong though do not know who else do this service,

I think most alloy refurbishment requires some painting if only in "alloy colour" so the black may not present a problem.

These people have been recommended to a colleague for his S2000, but he's not yet used them so can't say if they are any good:

Yes, the web site is all about exhausts, but click on the alloys link. They seem to repair some very suspect wheels. Not sure I'd want them back on my car.

cheers guys, just cannae understand what's the problem!!!

Called him 2 weeks ago and he said call me next week, and now never answers phone or calls to return message and called everyday for 5 days, also spoke to headoffice as the mobility would be dead handy but they have said they try to sort it out, but cannae understand the problem!!!!!

Cars not got it's interior in yet, but it's got the carpet in, so nearly there bar a few electrical parts on back order.

Says he can do them, awaiting a cost and time.

Is there anybody who can do stove enamelling (gun metal grey) and diamond polished rim edge in the Aberdeenshire area (topquality only)

Cheers

jeff

Can't believe it but Wicked wheels say they can't do my wheels, so gonna try the RMS place as they have quoited 45 quid a wheel to paint the inners, and powder coat the outers.

Wicked wheels would have been better as they are mobile, but hey ho, Ayr isn't too far for me to drive.

Thanks for all the links folks.

Jeff, try Kinghorn at Bucksburn.

If they cannot do it, they will know someone who can.

E-mailed you re: G-Tech.

So how did you get on with them?

Yeah they were ok for the fuchs, but they don't diamond cut them, just painted over them with silver border.

Grant, thanks mate, will maybe use them for my new wheels this week, as chipped one already!!

Paul try ESP Powdercoating

Thanks Grant. Just round the corner from Eurocarparts so that's handy.
Have you used them, and what were they like for price and colour match? Did they do the whole wheel? Had heard of problems with with buckling alloys if they were heat treated but I presume yours were fine?

Yeah they were ok for the fuchs, but they don't diamond cut them, just painted over them with silver border.

So how does that compare with the originals? Have you got a photo? I've had a set of cookie cutters that had a polished rim, and one set that had been laquered but the laquer never lasts as it eventually chips and lifts, and the first was a nightmare to keep clean.

I can vouch for ESP powder coatings, the guys there have been very good with all my motorbike wheels and parts.

OK, so I used ESP for my alloys.
Plus points: no VAT, £45 per 18" wheel for the standard silver, £10 to take tyres off and on. One of mine was scratched when I went to pickup and they redid it with no fuss.
Negative points: the silver they use for the £45 rate is a couple/three of shades darker than the Porsche silver and doesn't match the centre caps. Minor point, but I think I'm going to get them redone as it is nipping my head (obviously I don't have anything else to worry about at this point in life, fortunately). Will leave it six months though to see if I get to the point it doesn't bother me. Will probably have curbed the rears by then anyway...
Those that have had the facings on theirs redone did they mask up the back of the wheels or was their overspray on the inner rims (see 'not enough to worry about' above).
Will post some pics after I've washed the car.

Do these 'wheel refurbishers' do any wheels??? I kerbed my hubbys BMW's alloy, thank god it wasn't my 997!!! Anyway, after he spotted it and I got moaned at, I'm looking for someone who preferably would come to the house & do it.
Livi local???
Kx
