Posted earlier on the 911 turbo forum, but not sure if owners of other wide-biodied 964's may have useful advice/experience to share :....
I am considering buying a spare set of wheels for my 964 3.6 turbo, mainly to wear in winter so as to preserve (as best I can [8D]) the polished 18" Speedline split-rims. Looking at some wheel makes, I can probably source the 18" x 8" fronts with appropriate offset (ET 52) without too much trouble in a number of wheel variants, but much harder to find sets that have 18" x 10" rears with an offset close to the standard ET61.
One make appears to offer either 9.5" or 11" as a rear option. Anyone know what ET and tyre combination will work for my car in either of these sizes ("" I could live with some small shims to adjust but these wheels are probably an aggregate 8kg (17%) heavier than the Speedlines and I reluctant to add even more weight with full spacers, etc)? It is standard factory ride-height at present, but I might shortly be lowering it 15-20mm with a suspension upgrade (when I get time to take it in).
Alternatively, does anyone have a spare set of original 18" Speedlines lying around that they don't want [] "" don't have to be immaculate, but would need to be "true" (ie not buckled, dented, etc)? (Note: I live near Milton Keynes, so not too interested in buying wheels that are going to cost me a fortune in courier charges to collect.)
