Wheel sizes & offsets

Help/guidance required please

I've been offered a set of Cup 1 OE rims, can anyone confirm if they will fit my 964RS, and whether they need spacers.

the sizes are as follows:

Front 7 X 17 OE55
Rear 9 X 17 OE55

Thanks
David

Originals are the same bar the front being 7.5" so where is the problem?

You can fit the Cup spec rims of 8" et 52 and 9.5" and 68 but require spacers for the rear.

thanks for your speedy reply

yes I agree the rears are OK since they are identical, I was more concerned about the fronts as I suspected that the different offset/rim wdith may mean that the wheel fouls the arches on full lock and/ or the handling characterics may be upset.

has anyone has experience of using Cup1 fronts with a 7x17 rim and 55 offset? if so does it fit without fouling the arches or are spacers needed if so - what size? is handling compromised at all?

finally just to confuse matters further I've checked my mags and they appear to be 55 offsets on the front - although the stamps are faint due to the rims being repainted several times, I thought mag fronts were always 47 offset? so this may be another lwt / touring spec difference? I've also got a spare front mag in the loft which is also 55 offset???

apologies for the endless questions on a relatively simple matter can anyone throw any light on this?

thanks in advance

David

They will fit.

RS Mag fronts are 7.5 et 55

Spacers up to 21mm work well but you don't need them.

tyres are 205/50/17 or 225/45/17 for front.

I use 7" and 225. and 9" 255 both with et 55 on my RS
