Wheel Spacers on 996 C4

I have read recently in the club mag 996 section that John McGirl and /or other learned gentlemen were advocating 20mm wheel spacers at the rear to fill the 996 (not C4s?) wheel arch out.

Does anyone have any feedback good or bad about the practice. Any photos would be good. I have always thought the porsche design split rims make the tyre and arch combo look 'bare' but wonder if any such mod would cause havoc with the suspension geometry and bearings etc, just a thought as I have bigger fish being prepared to be fried on my car.

Just put 7mm on the front and 15mm on the back, got them from MAPS Ltd, complete with the correct length bolts and a set of lock bolts, the were very helpful and quick. The picture should show with and without. Hope that helps.
MAPS are at MAPS Wheel spacers

No comments on the lack of shine on the car please, living in the outback (rural Wales) almost every trip out gets the car looking like I have been dirt tracking, having said that I am thinking of a full re-spray to get shot of all the small chips and scratches.

Hope this helps, not great pic's, but you get the idea. The fronts don't push the wheel out too much, so no problems with rubbing in the arches. I'm happy with the improved look, not tried it out on the local bendy bits yet to see what it feel like. That's for another days fun.
