wheel spacers

Hi guys

I fitted a pair of 9mm spacers to my 964 to correct the 56mm offset to 47 mm which is the correct for the 18x10 inch rear wheels i have fitted and now all is ok clearance wise. BUT!!!! the studs are now in my opinion too short and the nut only screw on a few turns before tightening. The company i bought them from said this was fine although i am not convinced. How difficult is it to change the studs on the rear? i measured the thread sticking out the hub and its about 35mm i was going to fit 45mm ones or as close as. But i am unsure if the quoted length of the replacement stud is thread length or thread length plus the part that clamps into the hub.

Any help welcome

Tim

Tim,

I think I would share your concern. Design 911 list a variety of stud lengths ranging from 45mm to 72mm. I would guess that the dimension is the overall length, tip to tip. I'd be inclined to call and check before ordering.

Regards

Dave

Thanks for the reply Dave,
I am glad you share my concerns I think the company I purchased them from are wrong in what they are telling their customers. Very poor in my opinion as they state that longer bolts are required to use the spacers with 996 and boxster, But all other models no need?. I believe they are dangerous at the moment and I intend to let the company know my concerns so others dont have wheels falling off!!!!!

Does anyone know how to change the studs??

Tim
