Wheel Upgrade .....

Having decided to upgrade the wheels on my 993 from 16" to 17" - ideally using genuine Porsche wheels (probably Cup 2/3) I need some help to make sure I select wheels that will fit and have the right offsets!

I would like to move fairly quickly so would really appreciate any help you can give.

Help please.

Post Script!

New 17" wheels fitted and look/drive great. However, I opted for Pirelli P-ZERO N2 Tyres and they are MUCH noisier than the Continental' s (16" ) they replaced.
So noisy in fact that I had the car checked as I thought a whel bearing may be on the way out. All was found to be ok and the problem attributed to tyre noise.

Has anyone else experienced this? i.e. Is it normal?

Two things that could be material!

1. The tyres had run for about 1500 miles on another car before I fitted them so my latest hypothesis is that they may have adopted the geometry of the original car and will take a few miles to adapt to the new configuration! They do seem to be getting quieter (or I am getting used to the noise!).

2. I am told that the wheel geomerty on 993' s should anyway be checked fairly regularly and that this might make a difference - although the contrary POV is that while this is worth doing it is unlikely to reduce tyres noise.

Any further ideas?

Thanks

Robert
