Wheels and Lights

Hello All, wonder if you could give me some advice. I am considering upgrading the wheels on my 986 from 17's to 18's - What changes will need to be made to the vehicle?

Also I am looking at swapping the lights out for the clear ones - are these easy to fit?

thanks for your help

1. How old is your car - you should not fit 18" to a pre-98 Model year cars.
Otherwise, no changes need to be made as far as I am aware.

2. Easy - just look up how to change a bulb in your manual. (Unless you are fitting litronics, which is a whole different ball-game)

Looks like it... (The model year starts in Sept - so it depends... Model year 98 started in Sept 97 - maybe you are lucky?).

Porsche apparrently strengthened the chassis to resist the greater forces that can be transmitted by the 18" wheels.

Sorry - you'll just have to save money [;)]

Had the car checked out and looks like i can upgrade. Quick question, can I purchase any 18 inch wheels as long as they are made by Porsche or are there specific types for Boxters?

I believe there are boxster specific version of 18" wheels, e.g. why you get 'Turbo Look' alloys for boxster. I believe 18" wheels from a 996 for example would need spacers to make them fit.
