Wheels and tyres...

Evening all
Am interested in your respective 2 bobs worth re the below.
- I've some bubbling around the valves on my standard 18" alloys (57 reg Cayman S, Dark Metallic Olive...looks Black most of the time!). Am considering a refurb rather than spot repairs, and contemplating a colour change (gunmetal grey or similar)....I'm not hung up on 100% originality, and not thinking about selling anytime soon, but am interesting in opinions re moving away from the "standard spec" of alloy colour
- Has anyone a view on pro's/con's of wider tyre width (with a resultant decrease in profile to retain the same height), and the impact on handling (good or bad)

Cheers
Craig

Go for the colour you want - it's so cheap to refurbish wheels that its not worth getting hung up on 'original' colours .

You can always change it back next time they need attention - and there will be a next time.

Wider tyres? I'd ask why and what you hope to achieve as these cars are under powered anyway. Wider tyres = less fun...
