Hi, I have have a set of 18 inch wheels that i am told have come off of a 2007 boxster and have tried to fit them to my 2000 2.7 boxster the fronts are 235/40/18 on 8inch rims and they seem to fit OK but the rears are 265/40/18 on 10inch rims but when i fitted these they bolt up against the suspension legs, is there any hope of these wheels fitting with spacers or are they just to big ??? They look great on the car. Can anyone help me or have they got to go on ebay!!
Thanks

Ian

The best thing to do is get the widths and offsets from the wheels (cast in on the back of the spokes) and use an offset calculator to work out what you need in the way of spacers. The one I tend to use is: http://www.1010tires.com/About/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

The attached shows that 10" rears were fitted to the Boxster, so it is just a question of getting the spacers right. Bear in mind you will also need longer wheel bolts if you fit spacers.

Hi

Thanks for the info, the off set printed at the side of the valve is 58 and on the chart it sasy that the wheels should be 47 off set so may be a 10mm spacer would make them fit, what do you think?

An 11mm spacer will give you the correct offset, but a 10mm should be fine. Reading the TSB where that table came from, the only other thing you will have to do to fit 10" wheels is to fit an additional clip to hold the handbrake cable away from the rim. It looks easy, and if you would like details, send me an email and I'll attach it to a reply.

You shouldn't need to roll (swage) the arches, as it appears that 10" rims will fit underneath the rear arches of cars from MY1999-on.

Ihave emailed you about this to see if you have worked round it. I look forward to your reply.

Sorry to Jump on this post but it makes sense to keep together
I need to pick the collective brain and knowledge [:D]
I have a set of spare 17" Boxster Alloys.
My question is will they fit my new 981 2.7 if I want to use with winter boots
Fronts: part number 996.362.124.00 (Believe they are 7J 17 ET55 )
Rear: Part number 996.362.126.05 ( Again I believe them to be 8.5J 17 ET 50 )
Currently I have the Carrera Classic 20" fitted
Fronts 8J 20 ET57
Rear 9.5J 20 ET45

I have looked at the web site and I get the following using my current 20" wheel spec against what I believe is the spec for the 17"
On the Fronts it says
Inner Clearance = 15mm more
Outer Position = RETRACT by 11mm
On the rears it says
Inner Clearance = 3mm more
Outer Position = RETRACT by 23mm

Is the above correct and if so safe and acceptable just to pop them straight on?

Thanks all

I'm no expert but I'd say if they fit you're good to go. Make sure the rolling radius is the same when you put the tyres on or your speedo will be out. I reckon you're gonna need some hefty tyres like 65 or something crazy :)

Hope this helps
Eddie
