Wheels, Tyres and Spine

My recently acquired Boxster S 2010 was sold to me with 20" Carrera wheels shod with something that looks like a fat elastic band. My spine has now demanded I go back to some 18" jobbies which I want to clad in Pirelli P Zero because I like the rim protector bead.

Due to drink and eBay late at night, I almost bought some VELOCE 3.6 rims (I know they are a 'fake' but look pretty good to me).

Now, in the soberish light of day I need advice:

Any comments on the Veloce wheels

and

Any good deals to be had on Pirelli P-Zero?

Thanks!

David,

Although it may be a typo error, I think that your wheels are 19" not 20". As far as I know, 18" were standard on the 987.2 with the 19" being an option.

Sorry, can't help with the Veloce wheels but 18" should give you a more compliant ride. I'm running 19" on my CS but I also have PASM which helps negate the effect of the larger wheels.

Remember that there's £50 off P-Zeros if they (2 or 4 ?) are supplied and fitted at a Pirelli Performance Centre or a Porsche Centre.

Perhaps you should consider getting a wheel and tyre package from someone like DESIGN 911UK:

Hi Richard and Geoff. Many thanks for the advice. I am not in a rush to buy so your helpful advice will go into the pot!

avoid P zero's I have just binned a brand new set with 2k miles on.

Hate the things

You just binned a new set of tyres? ...what a waste can you get them out of the bin and i'll take them .
Let me know and will arrange a carrier to pick them up .

Mr Demon may have left his in the bin but I have a brand new set for sale in the "for sale" section here (under Pirelli P-ZERO) also on a well known auction site. The reason for sale is described in the advert. David
