To each their own (and you may know this already and simply like the look of the Cup Is) but...

1. OE Fuchs are much lighter and stronger than Cups
2. You need big spacers for OE Cups on a 3.2
3. Replica Cups can be purchased in the right offset but are of even lower quality and higher weight than OE

If I wanted Cup Replicas I would buy them new. At least you know the history of the wheel and have some manufacturer's or retailer's warranty (maybe just implied "fit for purpose"). Even new, these are cheap wheels and bundled with tyres they are *really* cheap. Someone like Jasmine probably has new and used to choose from. There are many retailers who stock them - see PPost adverts. Also IMHO, I would look at Cup IIs as the thinner spoke looks better with the 3.2 body/bumpers etc.

If you decide to sell your Fuchs can I have first dibs?

Paul,

I agree with Richard; personal choice, but the 3.2 Carreras always look so much nicer on the original, classic, Fuchs they were designed to wear. Coloured centres can look good.

Coloured centres can look good.

I put coloured, crested wheel centres on mine some years ago, thinking that they might look a bit naff (I had to try !).

But, they brightened up an otherwise dull, black spoked wheel.
I even thought of repainting the black a shade of blue (the car is dark blue), but even that just didn't seem right.

Ultimately, I can't justify the cosmetic costs, I suppose, and have no real reason to change - can't see the point in making the car more modern, as the plate gives away the age, and I don't like private plates.

As you say its down to taste, I also have a set of slate grey matching Fuch (not for sale) and a set of design 90s and a set of Cup 2's and am buying a set of cup 3's tomorrow! so wheels a plenty I'm sure I will find a set that I like out of that lot, but it's not cosmetic always handy to have a set you don't mind going on a track day with.

Paul

Ps anyone want a set of cup 2's they are on ebay at the moment!

happy Porsche motoring.

Hi Paul,

If you get the mags then you must be. Just that it says non member in the left hand box on the Forun site. Perhaps have a word with the Secretary to get it updated.

Happy motoring

Dave
