Wheels...

I recently purchased an 05' 997 C2S and absolutely love it. As part of the deal i negotiated a set of Sport Design Wheels.
Unfortunately when I took delivery of the car, the wheels hadn't been sourced, not a major problem I thought, but a month has passed and I am still waiting. The dealer has been more than apologetic but i guess i'm impatient and a bit fustrated that i accepted the deal on the basis of the wheels and i still don't have a date of when i will receive them.

I understand these wheels are a £238 option when purchasing a car from new, i just wonder how much they would be if i was to go in to my local OPC and order a set. Anyone have any ideas? Also how long would you expect to wait if you were to order a set?

I don't plan on buying a set I am just thinking about other options... first service and a Porsche track day in exchange etc.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
J

i don;t know the exact prices but i'd imagine about £380 for a front rim, and £450-500 for a rear.

I suspect the dealer is waiting for another car to come in with SDs on to swap over ? (which will cause two cars to have incorrect spec stickers in their service books )

I looked into a new set of Sport Designs last year for a 997 S. From memory a set of four excluding tyres is something like £2,200 plus VAT.

Hi,

My view is that if that was part of the sale, after a reasonable amount of time you should have them. it does seem that the dealer is waiting for a set to come in on a used car to do a swap. At this stage I would push them to put a new set on for you no matter what the cost. they happily sell cars for £60K / £70K and make promises they don't keep. A client of mine had this problem on a retro fit PCM they were supposed to /agreed to fit as part of a deal on a 997 C4S - months later no PCM. I advised him to contact Porsche GB at Reading to get them to give the OPC a kick up the bum - the OPC sent someone round to his house same day to resolve the issue. Call reading OPC and ask them for the Porsche GB HQ number.

Many thanks for the advice everyone.
I will put a call in to Porsche GB HQ.
Hopefully that will resolve the problem.
