Where are my old Turbos?

Hi there. I am new to the Porsche GB forum and not as yet a member. I was looking through some old photo albums and came across a couple of shots of a couple of 911 Turbos I was lucky enough to own in the late 1980's. I have just started to get really nostalic about these and would love to buy one of my cars back or another one if that proves impossible. I have searched on the DVLA vehicle check and the cars are not recorded. Surely they cannot have all been written off? (A Carrera 2 cab I had doesnt appear either) Anyway, one is a fabulous Guards red, with black leather piped red 911 Turbo 5 speed. Registered F 786 MAR. Gaad I loved that car. Got away from me on a B road in Oxfordshire once and clipped a verge but stayed pointing the right direction and only damage was a bit of pride and a small mark on the rear rim. Second car was an all black 5 speed cabriolet, registered F 289ADW. Please tell me they still exist. I wish I had the chassis numbers, but I assume someone in the club may have access to those? Thanks in advance for the help. If I still had a scanner I could post a photo or two. Maybe I should try to get the photos uploaded

I guess the DVLA search won't find the plate numbers if the new owners have put them on personal plates - quite likely on older cars.

As you suggest the Turbo register may have the plates on file.

Interesting how stories crop up quite often of past owners wanting to get their old Porsches back - some of whom seem to have success.

Good luck[:)]

thanks for the reply. Its earl days and I have my fingers crossed. I think the red car was bought by me from Chariots of St Albans and went like stink. The black car was bought from the Cardiff main dealer . This was the silly time when prices were going through the roof and I was tempted into selling the cars. I wish I had not. Anyone got a cracker of a turbo for sale?

Hi Andrew, i still miss my 89 930 and would be tempted if it came up for sale! Its a good time to buy, prices are depressed.
Just be careful not to rush in on a wave of nostalgia. They are old cars , some hiding damage , so a good PPI is essential.
Maybe try a 964 turbo as well. They are a bit better in many respects, same DNA though.Buy and enjoy. theres even cheap
petrol again !
