Where can I get a phone from?

Clarinsred

I have recently got a 2002 Targa, which has a cradle for a phone but no phone.
Does anyone know where I can get a phone from to sit in the cradle, and if possible the part number?
Thanks
Debbie

If you contact an OPC with your car details, they should be able to advise the part number from your car details if it was factory fitted, I think. Then you can either shop around or they may be able to get it for you.....

It depends exactly when your car was built in 2002. If it was after 1st September, then it will be MY2003, and if you have PCM2, then you can get a handset from any OPC. They are part number 996.642.212.02 and are £124.05 +VAT. You might be able to pick up a used one from somewhere like Porsch-Apart.

If it was built before 31st August (MY2002) then you will probably have to find a second-hand one as I don't think they are available new. You can tell the model year of your car from the 10th digit of the VIN. 2=2002, 3=2003. There is a VIN plate at the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side.

Thanks for the help. It is a pre September model, therefore it looks like I will have to look out for a second hand one... gutted!

Do you have a picture?

The reason for my question is from the thread I don't know whether we are talking a Porsche part or an aftermarket.
Also there are different cradles for different phones.

I have a nokia CARK-91 for a nokia 6310i (hopefully image attached). Thus have a Nokia 6310i in the car.
Similarly, if yours is aftermarket there are a number of bluetooth adaptors that allow your present phone to be used.

I'm afraid this may sound condescending but I am ignorant of Porsche phones but not mobile phones.

Apologies for tardy response I've been away on business.

I think I might be wrong about the availability of the Porsche handset. I just found this in the parts catalogue. Priced at £106.57+VAT for black plastic, or £438.10 for leather!!

If your car has option code 663, they it might be worth checking availability and compatibility with an OPC.

Hang fire for a day or two - i'm sure i have a new phone handset in my office desk, it came with the centre console trim i bought for my 986 years ago. If i've still got it you can have it for the cost of the postage

Soory guys, i've drawn a blank - either i've put it somewhere very safe or thrown it out at the last office move [:(]

Sorry, I 've been having internet problems recently... From looking at the pictures, it looks like the Nokia cradle... So perhaps I can get a phone for it after all...or even bluetooth (not sure what tha entails I am so not technical)!

Debbie,

Forgot to check to see whether you had responded.

If it is a nokia cark-91 there are a number of alternatives. So let us try to identify what you actually have.
Can you take a photo of the cradle and upload it?
