Where in the south UK should i take my new 997 for a drive

I became the proud owner of a 997 carrera s cabriolet today, all i can say is the porsche experience from buying to driving is a joy.

Anyway I live in the london/surrey area and want to take it out for a fairly vigerous 'country lanes' drive. Ideally with a purposeful destination like a great pub, landmark, car enthusiat place or somewhere with just something fun to do, not really a 'go for a walk' type though. Last time I had a car I lived up north so the obvious choice was the lakes.

Any suggestions for a really good drive please let me know?

Hi,

Welcome to 997 forum and congratulations on your new steed. [:)]

We have just one 997 place left, but you'll need to join PCGB. [;)]

Thanks, any other options then since thats gone, prefreably free options :) ?

I tried opening a good roads thread a while back. Everyone was a bit reluctant though as they didn't want to share their nice roads with the world

With the weather beginning to improve, ought to do your 'Newbury ring' again Alex?

We perhaps need to do it before they reduce the speed limit to conserve fuel supplies! Not that we stick to the speed limits anyway.......

Hey Jon

Yes I think some Sat/Sun morning runs are in order soon.

In fact, it's meant to be sunny until lunchtime today so I might go out for an hour now...

I was once suggested St Albans on the B651 to Hitchin could leave a smile on your face
Not done it myself as yet though...

I went up north again a few weekends ago- last minute :p:p:p
Just checking out some route for when the good weather comes back to us...

We seem to be in a situation where the Southern folks won't travel....[;)]
