In the late 60's I bought a 356SC from J.P.Motors of Washwood Heath. It was a wonderful little car, Gaurds Red and immaculate - DUY 62B - I seem to remember that the original owner was Alan Clark the late Politician who was also a Porsche Buff. I part exchanged the car for a VW1600 Variant in 70 ish probably at Black and White Garages Evesham. Anyone out there know where it is ?

Well if it was Alan Clark's it would have had an eventful life. I had his book re motoring and I know he later had a 3.2 Carrera and boasted that 1. It never let him down and 2. He was NEVER passed in it! Some bravado there perhaps but he was known to be a hard driver.

We need a few more politicians like him today IMHO.

Bit of a rascal, was Mister Clark. Can highly recommend reading his diaries. Pity how he treated his long-suffering wife, though.
