Where is the FAQ ?

Richard Moore

New member
I'm having two little problemettes which should be in an FAQ if I could only find it.

1) Why is my avatar image "too big" to upload when it's smaller in both pixel and file size than that requested

2) Why am I listed as a non-member when I am ?

A link to an FAQ would be fine but there doesn't seem to be one (apart from a user manual link) in the using forums section

The FAQ in the General Forum explains the "non-member" bit[;)]
There's a lot of other stuff there too.

Not sure about the avatar problem though. Can you post it as an attachment? - then I'm sure someone will be able to take a look and help.[:)]

Hi Richard to register to use the forum as a club memeber ring or send an email to Sophia at the club office including or telling her your membership no. and she will make the change in status for you. Mention the avatar problem to Sophia too. There may be a technical problem with the site as yesterday I made a post in the SC Running Reports which isn't there now.

Thanks Peter, but I'm trying to get people to use the (seemingly invisible) FAQ[;)]

I'd post a link to the General FAQ in the How to Use the Forums, forum, but I haven't got posting rights there[&o]

Just had a look in the how to use forum and extended it to display all rather than last 30 days. Still don't see what I would call an FAQ list. More a few oddments really.

I've attached the file which I'm trying to upload. Probably something very obvious but I can't make make it much smaller

Richard,

Peter has explained how to get rid of the "non-member" status.
The FAQ I mentioned is in the "General" forum, not the How to Use one.
You are right though - I would expect to find this info in the How To Use area, I'm sure we can get Jeff or Sophia to place it there.

Nice colour car!

Richard download the attached pic which I renamed if that works as an avatar and you want to use a better quality version, rename your subsequent upload with less letters and preferably in lowercase.

Thanks for the offer but I changed my mind about the pic. Will probably change it again[:D]

Does the server really care about case and file length ? I know Unix servers can be fussy on case but it's not a Win 3.1 server is it !

Does the server really care about case and file length
No and Yes respectively

the problem you are having uploading your avatar is probably forgetting to click 'Apply' or 'OK' after the file upload succesful message appears
