Where is the PCGB 356

I recall vaguely that a 356 was bought by PCGB, approx 5 years ago. I do not recall the primary purpose but on the orignial agenda was the possibilty for it to be shown at Regional meetings.

Does it still exist? If so then

Who is responsible for it?
Just a Garage Queen?
Available to anybody for use?
Which type 356?

Yes the car does still exist. It was on show at the Silverstone Classic this year has been at other Club events.
Since I know he does not frequent the forum perhaps your full set of questions should be sent to Fred Hampton the 356 Register Secretary at: 356@porscheclubgb.com Please keep us informed if you receive a reply.[;)]

Strange,

What does surprise me is, that after the tightening down of all Porsche's legal responsibiites and risks over the last few years, Porsche Cars have not let it be known whether they have any due legal liability attached to this car. I would have thought that the ownership isseu would, in their eyes, follow the legal liability attached to it. They mus thave Public and Employer's liability policies but are they covered for any liability that follows this car, should the driver of said car not be clear. If the car were driven and ran over a child, with no clear record of who was driving at the time, then presumably the courts would want to know who to sue. I imagine this was considered already by somebody.

The car is registered in the name of Porsche Club Great Britain.

It is used regularly at Club events and was on the Cotswold Rally, at Blenheim, Castle Hedingham, Silverstone Classic and Porsche & Polo.

It is to be found garaged in the main hall at Cornbury House when not at an event.

HI Geoff

Registration does not necessarily mean that the person or company on the V5 are the legal owners.

As a club director. perhaps you could clarify the legal ownership of the 'clubs' 356 for the sake of our members.

The V5 should show as Registered Keeper as Peter has rightfully pointed out.

Given the condition of the car the last time I saw it (at Raby Castle this year) Porsche Cars GB should pay for restoration work as IMHO it is not the best advert for either Porsche Cars GB nor Porsche Club GB.

Cheers,
