Nearly bought it there and then, but thought it would look rather daft on a Boxster S. Subsequently bought the 997 six months down the line and went to buy the plate to find out it had been sold just a week earlier []

I attended one of the auctions a few years back really interesting and I guess you can bag a good plate before 'the dealers' get hold of it and a mark up.

911 JOE may still be too.
Whilst we're on the subject, does anyone have a mate called Ian with a BM? I've got M3 1ANS still & it's a tad redundant now.

I have a mate called Ian with an M3...
Got a feeling he already has a plate on order though, but will let him know... What do you want for it?

I've got it advertised with a few players for £6k, but i've noticed that once they've put their commission on, it's coming out as advertised at +/- £7,000!!
I'd take £5k : it's just sitting on retention.

Sorry i'm been so long in getting back to you; just been so busy at work to get online.

I suspect that's a bit ambitious. Personally am not a fan of private plates, but i bought a new M3 convertible (sold it after 5mths because it was so dull), and on impluse bought M3 NBB. Granted it's NBB not as popular as IANS , but i paid 250 quid for it. There are an awful lot of M3 plates around.

Glad to hear things better at your end.
Since I last posted, i'm managed to secure the plate i've been after for the last 15 yrs, IAN & the 1st initial of my surname.
If he's still interested, he can have it now for what i bought it for at the DVLA auction last year, inclusive of agent's fees...£3,400.
I'm not that interested in making a profit now, so delighted with the new one.
Best wishes for your forthcoming birth.
Kind regards,
Ian
