Ok, try posting again! Anybody got any good sites to keep an eye on for a good 944 turbo 89/90. I've been watching autotrader, pistonheads and carandclassic.

Any help much appreciated.

Nick

The only other places would be this forum, eBay and possibly the Porsche magazines. "Most" people I would suspect would always advertise across a number of channels simultaneously.

Personally, when I've sold cars in the past it's been PistonHeads & Autotrader at the same time and then follow up with eBay if it's not shifting. But to date that last step has never happened.

Alas Turbos are rare these days so patience is required I suspect. Good luck!

Hi Nick,

I'd only add watch this and the Tipec forums, as quite often people bounce the idea of selling their car around for a while before advertising it. Possibly worth coming to events like Blenheim and Silverstone as well, as there are sometimes cars with "for sale" notices there.

Good luck,

You missed mine on Piston heads, its just been sold! so no more Porsches untill I return to England!!!

Still a paying member though.

Good news Gordon - about time too!

I havent exactly put much effort in !! as I was getting to tearass about in it on my trips home and when I was back in April I certainly was charging about and looking forward to doing so again next week, its amazing how much fun driving about not being so worried about acumulating points as they would have worn out by the time I returned.

I had just put it back on PH for the third time in 11 months as I was going to be about, to show it etc and hadnt even got round to putting it in the PCGB magazine.

there seem to be plenty on PH at the moment - you've just missed some nice ones - Gordon's, Paul Hilux & Nick Appleton's were all good cars

What's your budget?

Guys, new owner wanted it for Blenhiem, so look out for the new proud owner of a Baltic Blue 944 Turbo who will no doubt want to meet you all.

I guess you should look in as many places as possible as decent ones are not common so you want to spread the net as wide as possible. If you are buying from fleabay or other non-specialist route then of course you need to take extra special care you are buying a decent one. And if I were doing that i'd probably invest a couple of hundred quid to have the car checked out by a decent specialist. If you come up on this or other forums with the reg plate then it might be the case someone knows the car and can advise on some of the cars history at least.

I ended up buying mine from Automart, but was lucky. I saw a few before hand which seemed OK on the face of it, but once I saw mine it stood out above the others as being obviously a far better car, and after 6yrs of ownership all appears to be well (touch wood). So if you buy a decent one it will be cheaper to run (minus mods) and more reliable than a Ford Focus, I know from experience, however if you buy a pup you'd better have deep pockets.
