Where to get service? OPC or Indy?

My 2012 Cayman 987.2 is due for its minor service. Do I pay the OPC going rate and get a official stamp in my service book which would be an extra £200 more than I have been quoted by a independent Porsche service garage? Its my first Porsche which I have owned for 2 years and has been serviced by OPC centres in the past. Please can I have your opinions?

FWIW, Im on my first Porsche too, and it started with OPC, but last few have been Indys before I got it, and plan to keep it with the Indy where I bought it from (RPM Technik)

My own Audi is FASH from new, but, I plan to run it into the ground. Just gone to 100k this week in it, and although I dont plan on selling, it, but running it till it dies, I feel I have the better peace of mind with it with a FASH as its my daily driver at 25k mile pa

My BMWs too were always done by the Stealer, but, after the service and attitude I got from North Oxford BMW, I stopped having BMWs altogether, which broke my heart at the time

If you are planning to sell in next 24 months, I would say keep it OPC, may give you a better sale price and market (or trade in). If you plan to keep it for quite a while, if you find a good Indy near you, if you save £200 each time for next five years. But, that is only £1k saved (maybe more for larger services)

On a side note, I didnt buy privately, as I wanted a place to go back to, should I have issues. If your OPC has always seen your car, they may also give a better trade-in, or look after you in the event of an issue occuring between servicing.

If you have the money, I think OPC would be better, IMHO.

This is an often discussed topic on these forums.

I'd agree with Mark's comments. Plus, if you're selling within the informed Porsche community then a reputable Porsche Independent service history is perfectly acceptable, particularly on a 5-year old car like yours. However, a full Porsche service history would probably be more attaractive to the average Porsche buyer.
