Hi.
First time, Porsche owner, but with a wealth of advanced driving skills behind me (advanced motorist, Police high speed driver etc), and having joined the owners club, could do with some advice.
Just purchased, a 20yr old Boxster, compleate service history & stamps, MOT certs to support and at a nice price.
However, looking around for somebody who can offer Porsche garage (not main dealer please, spent all my money buying the car) services in the East Midlands. I live near Leicester and don't really mind travelling to get the work done But not to far, pls.
Also, looking for some lessons in driving her, and making the best use of the superior skills she offers and demands. I would also like a few tips (day course?) on home maintenance. Haynes don't seem to offer a manual for the Boxster?
Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Hi,
I used to go to Zentrum, but now go to OPC Leicester. On older cars they are competitive on price and brilliant people to talk through any service/repair problem. Yes, they will find all sorts of things which need attention,(apparently my wipers smear the screen and the front discs are close to wear limits and, and,.....), but use common sense and fix the stuff you can do yourself.
They do loan cars and you get discount for being in PCGB. Being in Leicestershire why not come along to R8 club night, first Monday of the month (that's tomorrow), at 7.30pm at the Coopers arms, Weston on Trent. Plenty of Boxster owners to talk to. Visit the Silverstone Porsche experience site if you want to improve your driving, I believe there are still some places available at discount rates for club members on the w/end of the Classic.

GCR Central Leicester Chris Sargent - Smashing bloke, very helpful http://www.gcrcentral.co.uk/contact.html

Zentrum Calverton nr Nottingham Porsche independant specialist, I thoroughly recommend as do many members, Mike and his highly trained team look after at least 5 Boxster competition cars including mine and my road cars.
GCR Central I have heard are good but I have no personal experience it might be more convenient for you, speak to someone that knows them, why not come along to club night tonight first Monday of every month at The Copers Arms Weson on Trent 7 ish and chat t fellow Boxster owners you will be very welcome.
