Where to MOT your Porsche

Existing Club member has just moved to Cirencester and has asked for recommendations to get his Porsche mot`d.
Thought it might be useful to get a list up here for others to see.
My 944 goes to Brian at Woodward motors, Thornbury

Ah yes the only place that ever put my wider rears on the front axle and the narrow fronts on the back axle, but only on the passenger side so I only noticed when my offside tyres were shredded. A long time ago but something you don't forget.

I used Lakeside in Nailsworth for just my MoTs on AMG and Porsche before I moved. I also (whisper it) used Halfords in Cirencester and they never even gave me any advisories never mind tried to suggest work (which to be honest I thought they might).

IMHO getting an MoT is very different from getting the car serviced.

Thanks for those thoughts. All other ideas are welcome - I don't know this part of the country yet.

My car is an '86 911 Carrera 3.2 coupe. Nothing major wrong with it today, but will need a trustworthy place for maintenance. And an MOT within the next month. Agreed that the two things are not the same. Thanks in advance for any & all contributions.

Autofarm just outside Oxford are a nice run away for servicing. As is Steve Bull in Devizes. Used both without problems.

I am Cirencester resident .... Steve Bull in Devizes or do not discount Lovett's in Swindon who , given their Classic Porsche status , are welcoming to 'mature' product.
I have long term good experience with both ....

Little bit of a drive but KJ's in Witney are great. Used them for 9 years or so on various German motors and importantly are happy for you to be involved during the MOT process i.e. tweak the mixture on my 924 as it had drifted slightly over the year. Not a Porsche specialists but happy to accept owners sometimes know their cars better than the garage that's working on them.

Thanks for all the above. Did MOT at K J's Witney today. A very good experience. Will definitely do it there again.

Servicing - not decided yet..

Recognise I'm a bit late to the party but there are a couple of places I've used that have both provided a good service. Neil Garner at Kemble Business Park and Challenge Motor Coy off Hales Road in Cheltenham.

Just had my 997 MOT'd at Halfords Autocentre in Cirencester, my neighbour has his Boxter done there as well - you can watch it being done through the windows in the waiting room, looked thorough and careful. Usually go to Lovetts in Swindon when it coincides with a service but why travel when you don't have to, it's only an MOT?!

for the past few years I have taken my 996 to Lovett’s in Bristol. I collect it with the MOT and with the dealership traffic light chart and the car is clean..
i am more than happy with the service..

Glad they were of use. I like them because they're really honest and have a genuine interest in cars, not just 'a job' (although if you start chatting to the owner you maybe there sometime - he likes to talk)

I always take my 993 to Lovett's now imaginatively named Porsche Centre Swindon. They are very good with the earlier cars. Been going there for over 10 years and always been really good.

All cars 3 years old and over require a valid MOT certificate by law, and the contents and standards required are set by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA).

At first I was wondering what the point of your reply was, then I realised you probably miss read the original question.
