Where to park!

Incept

New member
Hi,

As I guess many of you are, I am a little careful about where I park my pride and joy (993 2S)!

So, as a walker, I've been trying to find a resource on the web which might give advice about where you can park in the countryside with some confidence and have failed miserably!

Therefore, I thought I'd see if any of you were aware of a site that has this type of information, or indeed has any personal suggestions.

We live in East Yorkshire, but love to visit the country all over the North.

If anyone knows where a good and safe place to park is located close to some good walking country, I'd be very grateful of the information.

Cheers,

Chris

I have parked in fairly isolated car parks in Yorkshire, Cornwall, Dorset and north west Scotland - Wester Ross ? - and have never suffered any problems although getting my (at the time) 993C4S to one on a farm in Cornwall was amusing - the car was covered in liquid sheep s**t and smelled for weeks afterwards.

Anywhere in Skye, Yorkshire take a ten year old beetle. sad fact of life in Britain 2010 [8|]

We have parked in numerous places around N. Yorkshire and never had a problem. Never go into a supermarket though!

I generally try and find spaces next to disabled spots etc so that there is only the risk of one numpty on each side. I am not sure that there is a website that lists car parks that are safe from idiots though, don't see how there possibly could be. There are a list of secure city centre car parks but goodle should be your friend here.

Hi,

Thanks for all the posts.

It looks like you know where I'm coming from! [;)]

I also put the post on the 993 forum and also had some good ideas.

If we get sufficient suggestions, I'll try and put a list together and put it up on the site.

For your information though, we often park in the visitors' car park in Thorntone Le Dale and walk up into Dalby forest. Never had a problem there.

Please keep the responses coming.

Cheers,

Chris
