I know its early in the calender for shows etc, but does anyone know where i might see a collection of 993s nearish to me ( 100 miles or so ) so i can see them in the flesh before buying, just to get an un-rushed look at specs, models, colours etc before buying, i live in hampshire, know i want a manual coupe ( poss Targa ) prefer varioram, i would rather just look at this stage rather than waste a sellers time. Many Thanks.

What about going down to RSJ or 911virgin just to have alook around. Gives you ideas for the future.

Your more than welcome to come up to Swindon, wilts if you fancy a ride out somewhere in a 993 targa, poss go down to RSJ & have alook round with you...

Happy hunting.

Stuart

Hi,

There is an OBD seminar for 993's at Cornbury House in Gloucestershire on the Open Day on the 2nd March

That would probably be your best bet to meet a bunch of 993 owners with their cars

Cotswold Rally, 27th April, if you can wait that long, there'll be a load of 993s (and other lesser Porsches) meeting at Cornbury House from about 9.30 am and driving randomly round the cotswolds, if it's anything like last year. We had great fun, and managed to follow Gordon Attar's 993 TT and an ordinary 993 C2 most of the day. We all met back at Cornbury later on so that would be a good time to see as many as possible. the lunch stop is also a good time to catch up with fellow 993 owners.

And another, although I think my eyesight must be going, as according to my diary its Mothering Sunday, I'm sure it must mean Motoring Sunday,

It should be one of the best chances to see talk and compare 993's that you will find at this time of year.

I noticed that too which means I won't be able to make it. I'll have to wait for the visit to Colin Belton's place to say hello.

Ian.

Sorry for the delay in answering, thanks for all replys, hopefully booked a couple of days in the motorhome at Moreton on Marsh ( i think ) campsite, have i got the right location for Cornbury House, would be just my luck to get the wrong place, if i find it, are there any members with cars for sale going along, i dont want to spend much more than 25k, i had a 1996 Targa a couple of years back, sold it to buy the motorhome, now can just about afford both !! ( i think ). This time i would prefer a coupe, must be manual, arena red, silver or iris blue would be good, oh and also would prefer classic grey interior.
Thanks again.
Paul.

hm... Motor home or 993? Interesting decision - really is, I know what you mean. Owned a motor home for 8 weeks last summer, sold it again in case it fell appart. But fell for the idea and think I'll get another (but definitely not to replace the 993[;)]).

At least we'll know who you are when you drive in on Sunday - doubt there will be more than one there, unlike the commonplace 993s

Hi Paul - apologies for the shameless thread hijack but my manual 97 Targa (Polar Silver, albeit with black interior) is presently - very reluctantly - up for sale. There's an ad in the For Sale sub-forum.

Admittedly, I'm not on your doorstep (south Cheshire) but it may potentially be of interest.

Here ends the shameless thread hijack and plug for my sale! ;)

Hello Pete,
No i didnt make it sadly, have worked every day now for last 3 weeks, i own a small Bodyshop, mainly painting new vehicles and it has been completely manic, with no end in sight, still have money burning a hole in my pocket, just no time to go looking. I did spot a low mileage 993 Coupe in Iris Blue with Classic Grey for sale on Pistonheads, everything that i wanted and in Bath, not far from me. I phoned about it at 12 oclock, it was still for sale, in fact it had only been put on that morning, they said to phone back in an hour as the guy i needed to speak to was busy, an hour later it was sold, so i guess he was busy selling it !!.
Still if i wasnt busy myself i couldnt afford to buy one so i shouldnt grumble !!.
Regards Paul.

Hi,

Sorry you could not be there - glad we did not put you off [;)] There was a good range of 993's around, but you have to earn the money to buy them [:)]

I think now that the sun has come out, maybe more 993's will appear on the market.

Do you have a view on what it is you are looking for now? - Spec, Mileage, budget etc - maybe someone can tip you off if something is coming up for sale

Pete

Hello Pete,
No chance of putting me off, the sooner i am driving a 993 again the better, it makes it all worth it when youre working your nuts off and look outside and see the reason why.
My preferred spec would be a coupe ( poss Targa ) must be manual / varioram / grey leather / fpsh / low miles / low owners / standard car ( no lairy spoilers ). Exterior colour would be Arena Red but only if its in excellent condition as i think as soon as Arena is neglected or stone chipped it looks scruffy, other than Arena i would be happy with Zenith, Iris Blue or Silver. My ideal budget is around the 25k mark but a couple either way makes little odds.
As you say there may be more choice in a month or so. I have had my eye on a Arena Red C2S on Pistonheads,
which has just dropped down in price to 26k, it just a shame its so far away from me, that and the fact that it sounds to good to be true, perhaps i am getting cynical at last !!
Any leads or nods in the right direction would be appreciated, with the exception of the usual sites ie pistonheads, 911uk, Autotrader etc, all of which i scour all the time. I guess a post in the wanted forum would be sensible.
Regards Paul.
