Give Oli or Darren a Call at RPM 01296 661881 or email them through there website www.rpmtechnik.com. They should be able to give you the number of a good and reasonably priced body shop.

ah ok good stuff, I dodn't know Olie had a workshop, he's given me some very useful help in the past.

thanks for that

That's not as crumpled as my rear wing but I think you'll need a pretty darned good panel beater and a lot of filler to get that anywhere near decent enough to be repainted. Personally I think you're looking at a new rear wing (but I'm happy to be wrong)

So I can actually get a new back wing ?? i ve looked through different suppliers in uk and I haven't seen any back wings, usually jsut front ones...

i'm even thinking of selling the car for parts Im so gutted...

thanks paul.

( by the way, what price where you lookin at when u got y0urs fixed ? )

Ouch! Sorry to see that, how did it happen?

The rear wings are such a huge section that's welded all around, which makes them rather expensive to replace, but they're definately available. For some reason I have a figure of £600 in my head from Porsche (it was ages ago I looked into this)but I've seen them for much less than that at autojumbles and on eBay (new ones I should add).
Best regards,
Peter.

Hi pete, and thanks for the useful info...

you want to know how it happened ... mmm Im not sure I should tell, due to the riducule of the maneuvre... hit a lamp post tryying to avoid a rabbit, the back went, and slammed the post...

i see that same rabbit every morning... and i wonder if i should stew him...

Ps: apparently some guys in Leyton would fix it for £300 inclusive, but they haven't seen the car yet ... got an estimate from a guy that went to see them... problem is that line along the wing, very difficult to get back straight I think...

damn... damn...damn ... damn ...

Sorry to dissapoint you but thats a new 1/4 panel needed there, anyone who repairs that i would say is not worth taking it to, if you want a nice job at the end get a new 1/4. Most competent bodyshops can cut in a quarter panel instead of having to fix it at the seems. Also check out the breakers you normally come across 944's. There is a breakers near me who had two. not sure if there still there they are called 3m salvage in Chelmsford essex. Give them a call i had parts off them for my 944 when i had it and they are very cheap.

oh ...i thought so...

chelmsford ok then, i'll find out then... that is if i don't sell it for parts or track day car... gutted ...totally

thanks w blK

PS: nice car !

Have you checked the wheel/tyre for contact marks? If there's been any impact there (and from the damage it look like there probably was) then I'd factor in the cost of an alignment too. The car looks too nice to break, so if you can preserve it that would be excellent news.

On a rabbit related note, we had to look after some for a neighbour recently, they're terribly boring things and despite being a vegetarian I cannot help thinking that a stew might be the best place for them [;)]

luckily i wasn't going fast and the wheel didn't make contact...

i rubbed against the post and being a metal one with square sections it cruched the wing like tin foil ...

... ... ...

thansk for the feed back indeed...

rabbits...

The best price I got for a new rear wing from Porsche was £600 fully incl from Porsche Exeter.

I couldn't find any second hand ones that did not have rust at the bottom of the rear wheel arch, but they go for about £150 plus vat and delivery

I would say it could be too expensive to fit a complete new rear wing and spray job.
I would be inclined to cut the bottom half off leaving 2"-3" below the crease line. It should be easy then to use a hammer and dollies to straighten the crease and surrounding area sufficiently to make a reasonable filla job
Then fit a new lower half wing repair section and respray. It should be half the cost and a lot easier to do.
or see if you can cut a decent one off a scrapper but its a lot of work.

Why can't you do it through your insurance ?

HI AXL ( paradise city ?? )

thank you for the offer, I really appreciate it. OK so What should I do , find a replacement panel first ?

I'm afraid i'll have to take back my previous statement - looks like the lower bit of the rear wheel arch has been filled on that one as well so it wouldn't make much difference..sorry if i got your hopes high..[&:]

No worries , thans anyway

a mate is coming over from france to fix it.

i'll postt some pics when oit's done.

Hey Pj is that the repair to the crumpled rear wing on your website?

The repair is looking good. It's a heck of a lot of filler but from the picture it looks like it's coming along very well [:)]
