Sticket in the service book or sticker in the boot on the inside of the back panel.

Lools like a blue darker than Baltic. Same as Lemon's car?

Yep that does indeed look like my car.

In some lights it does look lighter than it is.

So I believe it is Nautic Blue Metallic.

I think they may have only done that coulour for year 1988.

What year is your car Gareth???

Cheers
Lee

car is a '88

heres another pic. Car has been purchased as Cat C write off, and I have no owners book, and the sticker in the boot has been removed (or lost). The sticker under teh bonet, by the ecu, has also been removed. (i take it thats where the colour code should be)

I have friends in a bodyshop who will be able to identify the colour against a chart if i can't find it.

Hi Gareth

Only 2 blue colours were made for 1988 944's.

The first was a standard non metallic paint Azurite Blue code LY5D

And Nautic Blue which was a metallic paint colour code LY5Z

Youse definately looks like my met paint so I am assuming it is Naitic Blue

Hope this helps

Call an OPC with the chassis number and they should be able to give you all the option codes the car had and also the colour code (and original supplying dealer etc.) I don't know that the paint code is anywhere on the chassis plate.

If you haven't had any dealings with an OPC yet the chances are that you will need to soon for small trim fasteners etc. which are usually reasonably cheap and second had can mean brittle or broken. I recommend Adrian Oxley at Exeter OPC who is very helpful and will mail items to anywhere in the country. Exeter is my local OPC but I know several of the forum 944 regulars who live quite far afield of there use him also.

I have briefly spoke to my OPC in Aberdeen, looking for a power steering pump (not seriously - £368 + Vat exchange) but for the plastic gears in the sunroof risers.

I will speak to them with my chassis code and confirm the colour code with them.

Thanks to all for the help.

Gareth
