Hi Peeps,
Interested to hear opinions on fuel grades being used. Depending on who you speak to, opinions seem to vary regarding the grade of fuel used. Standard unleaded 95 RON, Super Unleaded, Premium Unleaded, or Optimax?
Do any of these make any difference other than the allegation that Optimax has additive cleaners....at a price.
Modern cars (my X5 for example ) will automatically adjust itself according to the fuel being used so it does not make the slightest scrap of difference what unleaded fuel you use, but in 1989, were the systems that good?
When I bought my car the PO confirmed that he'd used standard unleaded with no problem. I have done likewise, but put a shot of super in, and also half a tank of Optimax, and I can detect no difference whatsoever, other than in my wallet.
Just getting to another fill up!
regards
Graham
