Which Mods

I've got my new car booked in to get the necesities sorted out (new water pump, front struts and power steering pump) but was wandering what the next step mod wise would be. It currently has a chip upgrade (superchips I think) but judging by popular opinion this needs changing. Im thinking Guru or promax. Any advise more than welcome.
 
how far do you want to go? turbo upgrade options seem to be unlimited these days! certainly talk to Andrew at promax as he seems to get good reviews here (although i've never used him myself), and www.vitesseracing.com seems to be getting awesome reviews over on rennist. Steer clear of guru themselves, as they don't seem to have very good customer service, but promax does their stuff, and you ca actually get hold of him!

other than that, just decide on your budget, and then add a shed load more for getting it fitted and tuned if you don't operate the spanners yourself!.

IMHO, in order of necessity for adding mods is:
boost enhancer (not needed if you go to boost control system)
3-bar FPR and chips (proper chips from guru, vitesse or lindsey. Not superchips!)
MAF
dual port wastegate & boost control system (either manual, i.e. a dial, or electronic, i.e. a flash HKS, greddy etc unit)
bigger turbo
after that, the sky's the limit!
 
I believe that Guru himself (Danno) has finally ceased trading and that all Promax chips are sourced locally and designed for our UK market now, so that's what I'd go for if I ever considered modifying my Turbo.

A good start is chips, FPR and Reliaboost. This is the best bang for your buck and will transform the car to a little short of 300bhp and vastly reduced lag [8D]

certainly in Chris' case, he has a 944 turbo cab, which with all the best will in the world, isn't going to be improved a lot with a strut brace. maybe a roof brace would be more apt...... [;)] Also, late turbo's have already excellent brake systems if maintained well. they were off the heavier 928 and "more performance orientated" 911, and as such don't really need a lot of change to improve things. particular pad and disc choices really are guilding the lily until we start talking about 500hp track cars.

If we were starting with a different base car, then I can certainly see your point, but in this case,.......

so why not add a few BHP to get things a bit more exciting, and then start thinking about spending very serious money on full adjustable coil over kits, adjustable anti roll bars, billet suspension arms, and 911 gt3 ceramic brakes!
 
I would steer well clear of any suspension upgrade on a cab - they are a bit wobbly and anything that takes compliance out of the bits that are supposed to be compliant just makes it worse.
