Which roof seal?

Judging by other posts my roof leak seems to be a common problem. I understand there are two seals - one outer and one on the removeable roof itself.
Which is the obvious one to replace, or should both be renewed. A previous thread mentioned that rear hatch seals shared a common profile and could be bought off the roll from motor factors. Anyone know if this is the case with roof seals or is it a case of paying top dollar from a Porsche outlet?
Cheers, Rob

It's the inner seal (the one on the car not the sunroof) that seems to cause most problems.

The outer seal is not designed to be 100% watertight and there are 4 drain holes inside the gutter around the sunroof that should take away any water that gets past the first seal. Take out the sunroof and trickle a little water into each drain. Look for the resulting puddle undernath the car to see if it is actually blocked drains causing your problem.

If they are blocked then very gently push a nylon strimmer cable down each hole. Don't be brutal or you could push off the rubber tubes that are inside the roof space and then you will have to take out interior trim to refit them []

the roof only has one seal ,the one on the roof panel, the one on the car is just trim holding the head lining in place.
the 944 has two types of seal depending on year of car. i dont think it is available on the roll!

Thanks for the replies. I've already checked all pipes, Paul, including that 'Y' shape coupling near fuel cap. All OK. So it looks like I's be splashing out to cure my leak.
